When switching, one of the DisplayPort outputs gets disconnected and window repositioning occurs, however, this is a DisplayPort specific issue and is why DisplayPort doesn't support EDID emulation, not just this product.
If you use a low quality cable, you will have issues with high resolutions/refresh rates not being supported, screen flickering or even a black screen, just buy a good quality cable and it will work fine.It is recommended to use an 8K DisplayPort 1.4 version cable, the length of which should not exceed 3 meters.
Here is what you need to make sure this display port switch will operate correctly right up to the edge of spec:

- The total length of the cables connected (Computer-Displayport Switch-Monitor) must not exceed 10ft/3m.
