Our Organic Bread Flour is designed specifically for artisan bread baking and is used by some of America's most respected professional bakers. This flour is a blend of Organic Hard Red Winter Wheat with a bit of Organic Hard Red Spring Wheat, both grown in the Western United States. We also add a touch of Organic Malted Barley Flour to the final product. In yeast-risen applications, this helps stabilize fermentation and increases the depth & color of your crust. It has little to no effect on dough leavened with only baking soda or baking powder.

Best for: Sourdough bread, country bread, sliced "pan" breads, bread machines, danish, croissants and tortillas.


What is bread flour This flour is specifically designed by mixing both whole wheat and white flours together to create the ultimate blend of healthy delicious bread.	Is your flour bromated Never! In fact, currently the US has not approved any GMO wheat for sale.	What is "ash" and why would I want it in my flour Every wonder what those little specs in your flour areThose are bits of the bran and the germ that are intentionally left in the flour to increase the flavor, nutrition, and look of the flour. The higher the number, the closer to whole grain the flour is. A number in the name of a flour is an indication of the ash content of that flour. For example, Type 70 is a 70 ash and Type 80 is an 80 ash. This naming convention is the way some common types of flour are named in France.
