Use the above size guide to determine the amount of henna needed for your application,

Our dark brown hair dye kit comes with 100 grams e 3.53 Oz of our proprietary blend of dark brown henna & 50g e 1.26 Oz of pure henna powder.

Please use appropriate quantities of both powders to get the best results.

Short Hair: Use 1/3 of the pack of dark brown & 1/3 pack of pure henna.
Shoulder Length Hair: Use 2/3 of of pack of both powders, this would be around 8 table spoons
Mid Back Length Hair: Full pack will be required for a mid back length hair
Hip Length Hair: 1 full pack & one half pack needed for hip length hair
Full Beard: Since this is a Unisex product, it can be used by Men too, For full beard, you would need 2/3 of a pack or 8 tbsp
Half Beard / Goatee: Would need around 1/3 of a pack or 4.5 tbsp

How to Apply

One Step Application

In 1 step process, both dark brown henna & pure henna is mixed together and applied (this is mainly recommended for regular henna users since the hair is already used to henna).

In 2 step process, the first step is to mix and apply pure henna, which turns grey hair into a red/orange color, and in the 2nd step, dark brown henna is used, which turns orange/red hair into dark brown color (Detailed Instructions for 2 Step Process are included inside the package)

Pour full pack of dark brown henna (100g, included in the kit) & full pack of henna powder ( 50g included in the kit) into a Non-Metallic bowl
Use freshly brewed black coffee ( highly recommended for better results) or Luke warm water if coffee or tea is not accessible at time of application
Slowly pour coffee / water into the the bowl and start stirring, stir until the paste is formed, final mixture should have a cake batter like consistency.
Preparing the mixture a night before of use would be highly recommended for new henna users.
Part your hair into sections, start applying the paste starting from the roots & working upwards
Once applied, cover your hair with Saran Wrap or shower cap, heat produced by this wrap will ensure proper dye release for better results
Wait for 2-3 hours for the color to properly develop, rinse it off and do not wash your hair with soaps or shampoos that contain sulfate for at least 48 hours
For best results, use our sulfate free shampoo, our shampoos are made with mostly natural ingredients and do not contain sulfates or paraben

A: Since our henna does not contain color developers (harmful chemicals) that speed up the application process, it takes longer to prepare and apply, anywhere from 2-3 hours.

Q: Does dark brown henna gives 100% grey coverage

A: Our dark brown henna is made with 100% natural ingredients, it DOES NOT contain color developers that can provide 100% coverage, so individual results may vary depending on the % of grey & experience with henna.

Q: Would henna provide coverage with only one application for first-time users

If you are switching from chemical hair dyes to henna, one application may not be enough, most of the first-time henna users get expected results after a couple of applications, this is because henna works differently as compared to conventional hair colors.

Q: Henna only comes in red color naturally, how is it that it's available in dark brown

A: Henna naturally contains red pigment, but when mixed with other herbs like indigo (naturally contains blue color) and amla & other herbs any shade of hair dye can be made. Our proprietary blend contains a specific % of herbs to get dark brown hair dye

Q: Can I wash my hair right after rinsing henna

A: We highly recommend not to wash hair with shampoos that contain sulfate until after 48 hours, as henna fully develops color after that. sulfate does not go well with henna dye, as it will wash out the hair color before it gets a chance to settle in.
